Together We Can Bridge The Gap

Marriage Resources

Strengthening Marriage Through Faith, Support, and Wisdom

In our parents’ generation, church staff were often the go-to for counseling services. This approach was built on trust, shared faith, and the belief that spiritual leaders could offer biblically grounded emotional support.

While I firmly believe Christ should be the foundation of any strong marriage and scripture often points us towards the truth that’s often missing in our lives or relationships— most pastors are not equipped or trained to address complex issues.

Today, fewer pastors receive formal counseling training, and many are hesitant to refer to licensed professionals.
The solution: Collaboration — faith and professional care working hand in hand.

Limitations Churches Rarely Address

Today, many believers assume that churches alone should provide marital or individual counseling. Yet issues such as trauma, mental health struggles, addictions, abuse, and complex relational dynamics often call for the added perspective of a licensed professional.

In addition to providing awareness, this site includes additional resources and aids to help fill gaps commonly overlooked in both the church and professional counseling. Additional resources below:

Encourage Your Church to Use the Acknowledgment Form

Because of my own experience—and the experiences of many others—I am advocating for all church staff to use the acknowledgment form provided on this website.

My request is simple: Please reach out to your church leadership and encourage them to adopt this form as part of their standard procedure before any counseling sessions.
